大数据在地球观测、环境监测，以及了解人类和地球之间的相互作用中发挥着越来越重要的作用。地球大数据将成为人类认识地球的新钥匙，成为地球科学研究的新引擎。
《地球大数据（英文）》（Big Earth Data，以下简称BEDJ) 是一本跨学科的开放获取期刊，创刊于2017年12月，是《国际数字地球学报》（International Journal of Digital Earth）的姊妹期刊，由国际数字地球学会、中国科学院空天信息创新研究院、中国科学院A类战略性先导科技专项“地球大数据科学工程”共同主办，英国出版商Taylor & Francis和中国科技出版传媒股份有限公司负责海内外出版发行，主编为郭华东院士。
BEDJ是全球首个聚焦大数据的地学刊物，主要刊登研究论文、综述文章、数据论文和技术摘记，旨在促进地球科学大数据集的共享，推动大数据技术在地球科学的创新与应用，为从事地球大数据的采集、管理、处理、分析和可视化研究的学者搭建一流的国际学术交流平台。
2020年5月，BEDJ被全球最大的同行评议文献摘要和引文数据库Scopus收录。这个重要的里程碑能够极大地增加期刊内容的可见度和曝光度，使得在BEDJ中发表的文章容易被发现，作者也可以方便地查看文章的引用情况。

Instructions for authors
About the Journal
Big Earth Data is an Open Access international, peer-reviewed journal publishing high-quality, original research. Please see the journal's Aims & Scope for information about its subject focus and peer-review policy.
Open Access means you can publish your research so it is free to access online as soon as it is published, meaning anyone can read (and cite) your work. Please see our guide to Open Access for more information. Many funders mandate publishing your research open access; you can check our open access funder policies and mandates here .
Please note that this journal only publishes manuscripts in English.
Big Earth Data accepts the following types of articles:
Original Research Articles
Secondary Literature Review Articles
Data Articles
Technical Notes
Data Sharing Policy
This journal applies the Taylor & Francis open + FAIR data policy. Authors are required to make the data and materials supporting the results or analyses presented in their paper freely available. A CCBY, CC0 or equivalent license should be applied to any datasets to allow reuse by any third party for any lawful purpose. Data should meet with FAIR standards established by the subject area. Authors are required to deposit the dataset(s) in a recognized data repository that can mint a persistent digital identifier, preferably a digital object identifier (DOI) and recognizes a long-term preservation plan. If you are uncertain about where to deposit your data, please see this information regarding repositories. Authors are required to cite any data sets referenced in the article and provide a Data Availability Statement. Please note that data should only be shared if it is ethically correct to do so, where this does not violate the protection of human subjects, or other valid ethical, privacy, or security concerns.
At the point of submission, you will be asked if there is a data set associated with the paper. If you reply yes, you will be required to provide the DOI, pre-registered DOI, hyperlink, or other persistent identifier associated with the data set(s). If you have selected to provide a pre-registered DOI, please be prepared to share the reviewer URL associated with your data deposit, upon request by reviewers.
Where one or multiple data sets are associated with a manuscript, these are not formally peer reviewed as a part of the journal submission process. It is the author’s responsibility to ensure the soundness of data. Any errors in the data rest solely with the producers of the data set(s).
