Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology

(Revised 2020)

Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology (JASB) is sponsored by Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. JASB has re-launched with BioMed Central since 2012, is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that encompasses a wide range of research areas including animal genetics, reproduction, nutrition, physiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, feedstuffs and animal products. The journal publishes original and novel research articles and reviews mainly involved in pigs, poultry, beef cattle, cows, goats and sheep, but the studies involving aquatic and laboratory animal species that address fundamental questions related to livestock are also welcome.

Author information

JASB publishes the following article types, research, review, short report, letter to editor, meeting report, and methodology article. Each article type published by JASB follows a specific format, as detailed in the corresponding instructions for authors, please choose an article type from the list on https://jasbsci.biomedcentral.com/submission-guidelines view the instructions for authors. Manuscript should be submitted online.

The instructions for authors include information about preparing a manuscript for submission to JASB, criteria for publication and the online submission process. Other relevant information about the journal's policies, the refereeing process and so on can be found in 'About Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology'.

Open access

All articles published by JASB are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon

publication, without subscription charges or registration barriers.

Article-processing charges Open access publishing is not without costs. JASB therefore levies an article-processing charge (APC) of €1400/£1100/$1720 for each article accepted for publication, plus VAT or local taxes where applicable.

The APCs for the journal are partially supported by the Da Bei Nong Education Foundation Program of the China Agricultural University Education Foundation, so the authors only need to pay 50% of the total charge.

To get the discounted APC, authors must use the code EL-CASV-JASB-0602 when agreeing their APC amount; or they will otherwise be charged the full price. Please be aware that any other discount (i.e.: institution membership discount) would not be applicable to this discounted APC.

Copyright

JASB requires authors to declare any competing financial or other interest in relation to their work. All competing interests that are declared will be listed at the end of published articles. Where an author gives no competing interests, the listing will read 'The author(s) declare that they have no competing interests'.

Authors of articles published in JASB retain the copyright of their articles and are free to reproduce and disseminate their work (for further details, see the BioMed Central copyright and license agreement on http://www.biomedcentral.com/licensing).
